The Access Channel lets you construct Portlets (Portal Pages) using a drag-and-drop method. You lay out your person notebook parts, then configure and attach queries and then deploy those parts to run in a strong-authenticating web portal, firing queries against a secure query service that uses pluggable policy evaluators to filter the query results.  This level of architectural excellence in access controls is unheard of in most HIPAA-compliance security plans.
